Yuliya Gaydayenko, MA, LMSW is a Senior Director of Older Adult Services at Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit. Yuliya has worked in the community for the past 22 years, starting as an ESL tutor, Refugee Resettlement Coordinator, Day Camp Director and then Older Adult Services Coordinator at the Jewish Community Services in Flint, Michigan, where she then served as an Executive Director from 2003 to 2008. She has been at JFS Detroit for 9 years, leading the growth of older adult services, transformation of the geriatric care management, Holocaust survivor and bilingual services, development of new programs for older adults, and implementation of evidence-based programs. She is actively involved in the community, is an officer of the board of the Senior Regional Collaborative, member of the Regional Elder Mobility Alliance, and other collaborative bodies. Yuliya received a prestigious Mandell L. and Madeleine H. Berman Award for Outstanding Professional Service in 2015. Yuliya’s family came to the US from Moscow, Russia as refugees and resettled in Flint, MI in 1995. She was recognized as Angell Scholar and Maize and Blue Scholar by the University of Michigan and earned her Masters in Linguistics and Masters in Social Work from Michigan State University.
