Jennifer Drost, DO, MPH is a practicing geriatrician and the Medical Director for Research for the Senior Health Institute at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. She is passionate about improving the health of the frailest elders and targets her educational, research and clinical practices towards team based care for older adults and their caregivers. Along with a team of nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers and office based staff, Jen provides primary care to patients in their homes though the Summa Health Physician House Calls program and serves as a physician lead in the program.

After graduating from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Jen completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Summa Health. Following residency, she completed fellowship training in Geriatric as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Jen serves as faculty for students, residents and fellows for both clinical and research education and is an Assistant Professor in Family and Community Medicine and Internal Medicine at NEOMED. Jen’s academic and scholarly activities surround improving geriatric and team-practice based knowledge for learners across the health care system and at a variety of educational levels. She is currently funded through two HRSA cooperative agreements to design and test curricula in this endeavor.
