Dr. Leone is a caring geriatrician and palliative care specialist. He currently serves as medical director of Palliative Care Services and assistant professor at the Palmetto Health Alliance / University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He is not just a physician committed to the well-being of his patients; he is an active volunteer within the community. Dr. Leone has been actively involved in Medical Missions in Honduras, South America and Africa and served as a Volunteer Resident at the Good Samaritan Clinic and Free Clinic Inc.
Both a noted physician and researcher, Dr. Leone has done research on micronutrient deficiencies in palliative care patients, ultrasound in geriatrics, assistive devices in the elderly, pain management in skilled nursing facilities, spirituality and religion and the impact on older Americans, Brain Functional MRI studies in the elderly and the prevalence of nasal cancer.
