Project: "Transforming End-of-Life Care Through ePOLST Implementation"
Oregon Health and Science University

Amy Vandenbroucke is an Associate Director at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Center for Ethics in Health Care. She is also the Executive Director of the National Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Paradigm and, from 2013-14, she chaired the Oregon POLST Task Force.

Amy has always been passionate about health care policy and ethics. She graduated Bucknell University with a History degree, with an emphasis in the history of medicine, and then focused on health care law courses at DePaul University College of Law. During law school she worked for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office for Civil Rights and the American Osteopathic Association.

After graduating she served five years as the Associate Legal Counsel (later Legal Counsel) at OHSU, providing counsel on a variety of topics including university and hospital policies and medical ethic questions. She is thrilled to work with national leaders to implement POLST nationwide, as well as specifically in Oregon.
